I run network, security and data center engineering at iconectiv, where the systems my teams keep alive handle call routing and number portability for two billion users and 5,000 customers. Twenty years in, the part I still like most is the building itself — which is why the roadmap reviews happen on weekdays and the side projects happen at night.

01 — Automation
Automate the toil away
The fastest way to make an infrastructure team better is to stop asking them to do the same thing twice. Terraform and Ansible to build, Puppet for configuration, CI/CD and run books for the rest. Automation is a leadership decision before it is a technical one.
02 — Architecture
Design for the blast radius
Identity-based Zero Trust, segmentation and a secure edge built to CISA, NIST and ISO 27001. I moved our edge from Cisco to Palo Alto and put SASE in front of it — not because the old design had failed, but because its failure modes were too wide.
03 — Teams
Push the decision down
Teams move at the speed of whoever is allowed to decide. I hand ownership to the engineer closest to the problem, back it with metrics instead of opinions, and let them defend the call. It is slower for a quarter and faster for a decade.

An n8n pipeline that reads a year of prices for every S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 stock, runs seven technical indicators, and has Claude pick three to five BUY, HOLD or SELL calls before the opening bell. Each call ships with a short, number-backed reason, here and in Slack.

LinkedIn Translator
Twelve personas that turn a rough thought into a LinkedIn post, from Stoic Executive to LinkedIn Lunatic. A form posts to an n8n workflow, a model does the voice, the result lands back on the page. Built partly to make fun of the genre.
Dad Joke Generator
Pick a tone — silly, wholesome, punny, tech-nerdy — and get back something worth groaning at. Same shape as the translator: plain front end, webhook, model behind it.
Tiny Traveler
An itinerary planner for families travelling with children under five. It collects the family, the destination, the dates and what everyone actually enjoys, then hands off to a workflow that emails back a plan.
